Fireman, Second Class, Ralph A Kirkwood, was killed in action on the 28th April, 1944 serving on board LST531, during the action with the e-Boats.

Ralph Kirkwood left a wife, Mrs. Martha Kirkwood, in Dayton, Ohio, and is buried in Plot E, Row 6, Cambridge American Cemetery, England.
