Allen Obe Achey Jnr. served as a Motor Machinists Mate, Third Class in the United States Naval Reserve.
On April 29, 1944, while participating in Exercise Tiger aboard the LST351, Achey was killed in combat, after convoy T4 was attacked by German e-boats.
He is buried in the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park, Rossville, Georgia. Achey’s parents were Mr. and Mrs. Allen Obe Achey Sr. who lived in Rossville, Georgia.
Achey had completed 7th grade and was single at the time of his enlistment.
