Our mandate is to commemorate, but also to educate and to this end, we intend to create a unique online resource of documentation, giving first-hand accounts of the events of that night, together with military records, logs and diaries where available. To complement the official documentation and records we will be adding a very personal feature, our searchable database of those who lost their lives. This archive will contain as much information, imagery and personal military artefacts as is possible to collect and display online about each individual - including dates of birth, their relations, education, marital status, service record, date and circumstances of death and any memorial or known grave. This will not only provide a valuable resource to those trying to trace a relative, but will also be indispensable to anyone who wants an insight into the lives of these brave men. This information is complex and difficult to research and assemble, but when complete, the Exercise Tiger Trust will provide the most comprehensive searchable resource available on the Internet. If you would like to become part of this valuable project, by making a donation or becoming a sponsor, please click here for further information. In addition, it is our ambition to provide, not only a lasting memorial, but a living legacy that will have an impact on the lives of many Americans now and in the future. Any funds we raise, above and beyond that required to maintain and develop the website, will be used to sponsor the education of the children of US servicemen who have lost their lives in more recent conflicts. In this way, we hope to ensure that the names of those who died on 28th April 1944 will not be forgotten, but will live on, helping to educate the generations to come.
