It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of Dr Eugene Eckstam, veteran, and lifelong campaigner on behalf of Exercise Tiger, on April 9th 2010.

The Exercise Tiger Trust - founded to commemorate the most costly Allied training incident in the whole of the Second World War - is proud to announce that Greenway Ferries of Dartmouth are to become Patrons of the Trust on April 28th, marking the 66th anniversary of Exercise Tiger.

The Trustees of the Exercise Tiger Trust are pleased to announce the launch of the Roll of Honour section of this online memorial to the casualties of Exercise Tiger.

This 'virtual' tribute lists all of the victims in a searchable database, showing as much biographical detail as possible. It is our intention to eventually be able to create a 'memorial page' behind each listing which would give more details on each casualty. This is, clearly, a major undertaking and we are greatly in need of additional information relating to each of the men listed.

The Trustees are pleased to welcome new Honorary Patron, Jason Free, into the charity.

One of the long-term aims of the Trust is to enable researchers and students to access documents and archives from one, free, resource. In order to achieve this a knowledge of the education system and courses is vital.

Jason brings an enviable reputation in the educational community as an innovator, researching and designing cutting edge educational programs for secondary and higher education in the US.
